How does the Spring Grove School Districts’ Market compare to the rest of York County (PA)?

Asked by RGRDC, York County, PA Wed Apr 2, 2008

I know a year or two ago Maryland Families were moving to my area in droves. Home prices in one established community (Twin Pines), increased to levels in which I did not think I would see in my lifetime. Is the Spring Grove School District still a popular area for Marylanders? I know Jackson Heights markets heavily in the Northern Maryland area?

Fortunately the York Area has not been hit by the forclosure crisis and home values hold steady in most of our communities. As an expert in the Spring Grove community (I was raised and still live in Spring Grove) I can tell you that Gemcraft Homes (Jackson Heights) is based out of Maryland and gets a lot of business by marketing to those consumers. However many Marylanders are realizing that the cost of living is not much different and many are moving back. In Twin Pines there are a lot of home choices and I have shown many to my clients in the past few months. In fact, I am showing a new listing in that development this evening. The homes that are updated in the back end of the community are selling in the 180(s) and 190(s). Those towards the front on Kevin typically go for lower (in the 160s and 170s). I live in Salem Heights/Sherwood Forest Area and those home prices have risen as well. Spring Grove is still a thriving area if your home is priced right.

Any new community close to MD is a good choce for Marylanders. PA has not seen the spike in electric costs . Our taxes seem to be better and housing is still cheaper in PA.. The only draw back is the cost of gas if you need to comute to Md everyday. So of course the builder is going to advertise there and anywhere he can to bring in buyers. Now really is a great time to buy inteerest is low and builders are offering great insentives you really can not go wrong. It is a buyers market!!!!
