Honestly, it is still Craigslist. Although, you may want to also try the small local market on San Geronimo Valley Road in Woodacre. I think I have seen postings on a public bulletin board there.. The store is located behind the Horse Stables that is on Sir Francis Drake. San Geronimo is the first left just as you are coming down Whites Hill from Fairfax. Also, there is a Melissa Bradley Real Estate Office not far from the grocery store, you might want to try there as well. Sometimes local offices will know of rentals coming on the market soon.
Good Luck!

I feel your plight. I goolged section 8 housing in Marin and www.Marinhousing.org is what came up. I am sure you ate familiar with it as I think that is where you went to qualify for section 8 housing. I snooped around the sight and there were a couple of numbers that came up. One was actually for landlords who maybe thinking of doing section 8 housing. That number is: 415 491-2565. Maybe a landlord has called recently and he/she can point you in the right direction. There also was a waiting list you could get on for housing. Although it maybe for developments such as the one in Marin City. Here are a few other numbers 446-7054 and 491-2525 for the Marin Housing. A lot of Landlords are not going to be familiar with how section 8 housing works, it may help to educate them by giving them a few contact names as Marin Housing for an explanation. I hope this helps, I wish I knew of someone who was looking to rent! ... more

That is hard to say!! There is a lot of research that would need to be done to come up with the area that is right for you. You would need to check out school test scores, local crime reports, proximity to jobs, proximity to parks and open space, etc. etc. Marin may seem expensive, but it may be more what you are looking for after all!!!

Let us know if we can be of any assistance.
