Hi Maria,
If you are still looking to buy something in that price range, you would probably find something in either Altamonte Springs or possibly Oviedo or Winter Springs. Chris Creegan answered:
Are you looking to buy or rent? There are many benefits, especially in this current market, to purchase a home.

Maitland and Winter Park are great areas and it is close to UCF. For the best value, you should look into the Seminole county side of "Winter Park" as it will put your kids close to ucf and keep them in an affordable price range. Apartments will be cheaper than a house and there are a lot of apartments in the area. Houses will run you about $1200/mo to rent.

Buying a house, minimum 3.5% down, and could have payments much lower than 1200.
