Madison is a strong area for resale's, the best resale's are well maintained homes themselves and updated. Most neighborhoods in Madison are well maintained and have covenants that are enforced. As it is a fast growing City that is close to everything with an excellent school system, all a neighborhood needs is the particular amenities that an individual would want and/or need to be a better choice than the others. ... more

Rent to own is really not a good idea, therefore consider fixing whatever is preventing you from purchasing outright. Rent to own can be risky and one could stand to lose a bit of money, it favors the owner; therefore inform yourself well in advance of your search, and consider consulting with an attorney who specializes in real estate before considering the idea and or before signing any agreement. If you haven't done so yet, visit with any licensed loan officer, see if you can buy outright, or simply continue renting until a purchase can be made. ... more

These website only advertise property, they do not actively rent or sell or loan money. They just provide space that anyone can advertise.

Assume that all rentals here are scams. They will want you to send money to them for some reason. Don't!! Those are the scams and they are abundant here.

To report a scam listing:
Go to the listing - find the link named MORE, under it is a drop down menu with FLAG - Click it

Also - Never Ever send money = those are scams. Never pay for an application = those are scams

From my understanding any property that accepts Section 8 Vouchers must be approved by the local Section 8 office. Each property that is in the program must pass all inspections/requirements and is usually already active on the list of available homes they provide you. Your best option is your local office. ... more

You may want to look on It's actually the best place to start your search this way you know ALL the homes listed there will take your housing voucher. The next best place to look is in the Huntsville Times and you actually don't even have to purchase the news paper you can just look at it online using this website: Make sure that you click on Classifieds and put in your requirements for rental. Some homes will list that they take it others will not but it's always worth asking.

Lastly I'd check with the Housing Office they keep a LONG list of homes with landlords who are willing to accept Section 8. The only thing about this list is I'm not sure how often it's updated the last time I helped a client look through the list half of the homes were already rented, sold, or had numbers that were disconnected.

Also, PLease ask the office about their program for purchasing a home. Huntsville has a program that will help you to buy a home and will still help with your mortgage payment for a set number of years just like renting except you will be the homeowner.
