If they were relocated to another country and do not have a property management company handling their rental and your talking to the owner its most likely a scam.

They are ALL SCAMS. Trulia, Zulia and other similar are a sea of SCAMMERS. ONLY use a reputable Property Management Company, or meet the Land-Lord "In Person" at the rental property.

Hi Becky, you may want to check out www.CorporateHousingSolutions.com they offer short term rentals, furnished or unfurnished properties to folks relocating to Denver with their careers or in need of temporary housing. Since this question was posted in June of last year, it is probably a mute point by now, but I know there are many other folks looking for similar housing options.
Here are a couple of Links to short term, fully furnished rental properties in Littleton meeting your housing requirements:

The Denver metro area is inching its way up the list of top places for STEM graduates.
STEM refers to the science, technology, engineering and math sectors, and is associated with statewide initiatives to draw companies to the state, as well as produce graduates with degrees in those fields.

The weather here is incredible, there is always something to do with the family, and the schools here are great too The public schools have excellent teachers, and the private schools have great academics and sports too. Having a booming economy helps as well because mom and dad have the opportunity to provide for their family :-)

If you would like more information let me know as I am involved in a lot of activities with my kids and our website, legacyrealtyonline.com has up to date MLS listings, which can be useful given these homes are not staying on the market very long these days.

are you set on finding a place in a large apartment style complex, or are you considering renting from an individual landlord?

sometimes a landlord will work with you, and even consider rent to own options.

I know a few landlords in the area that you could talk to if that helps.

This is an older question from 2013, as of now, March 2014, the Denver Real Estate market is HOT, with Supply and Demand economics in full force. It is a Seller's market. Many Landlords are not renewing leases but opting to capitalize on the market conditions, to sell. If you do find a Rent to own property, please be sure to have a Real Estate Attorney draft the contract for you.
I am a Realtor in Littleton, if you need expertise with buying a home, please give me a call.

Hello-

If you are looking at renting from a large multi-family company such as Archstone, Amli or Camden then you will likely be disqualified with a felony. Your best bet would be to contact a private renter who is willing to make an exception for you. Be prepared to pay a hefty deposit as well. Good luck and if you need anything please reach out to us.

Your best bet Julie is to contact a Realtor who can either get you the details on that particular listing or get you into another home in the area. When you rent from private owners be prepared to pay close to a whole months rent as a deposit and sometimes you even have a questionable landlord that doesnt take care of the property. Good Luck Julie and if you need help please contact us this weekend

Sara,

I work with relocation buyers that want to rent first and take the time to check out different communities before purchasing. Renting a home or apartment for a year is an option but time consuming and expensive. You might want to consider a nice full service rental that business people rent for a few months without a long term commitment while they are doing a temporary job in the city and then going back to there home out of state. One of these for example is The Breakers in SE Denver. They are pet friendly as well. We stayed there for six months after we sold our home and were waiting for our new home to be built a few years ago. There should be similar opportunities in the Lakewood/Littleton area.

Mmickeletto,

Welcome to Denver. I work with a lot of relocating buyers. Several want to rent before purchasing since they don't know all of the neighborhoods and options. You are thinking about the commute you will have. Where you will be working and if there are other daily or weekly activities are some of the considerations for you to make the best decisions. Denver proper traffic is not so bad. It is the drive in from Littleton to Denver and the drive back to Littleton and some parts of Lakewood that could wind you up in heavy traffic. Check out my website to search for the right home and area for you.- http://rmcguire.yourcastle.org/ . We are here to help you with all of your real estate needs.
