Hello, Ms. Sharee!
I have resided in Lithonia, GA for over 15 years. I attended elementary and middle school in Lithonia. Speaking from experience, I wouldn't recommend any elementary school in Lithonia, unless the school is private. A private elementary school in Lithonia is still kind of "if-y". A lot of parents send their children to school in other towns/cities, such as Dunwoody or Chamblee. I, myself, eventually transferred to a school in another district that was more advanced. ... more

The question is subjective, therefore consider a visit to the school, speak to the superintendent, teachers, principal, etc., then determine if your comfort level can be reached; for school information see links.

Realtors can NOT respond in detail to questions about an area or neighborhood concerning good, better or worse, because it could be perceived as STEERING a client to or away from a certain area, and
steering is against the law. What Realtors though can do as the agent below has done for you, is let you
know where to go on the internet to find that type of information. Once you have worked with a Buyers Agent and found the property or properties you are most interested in, I always suggest to my buyers to visit the local police dept. and get additional information, and yes you the future home owner could stop
by the neighbors and tell them that you plan to move into the neighborhood and just ask them what they
like about it.....

Good Luck to you

Sincerely yours,

Real Estate Agents are not allowed to comment on a variety of topics. The Fair Housing Act restricts the information that can be provided by a Real Estate Agent.

Off Limit Topics Include:
• Crime Statistic (including questions about whether a neighborhood is good or bad or safe)
• Demographics
• Environmental Concerns
• Household Income
• Religion
• Schools (including questions about how good or bad the school is)

Determining to the answers to questions on any of the topics listed above is something that you would need to do on your own. It is up to the individual to make their own determination about a specific area. If a Real Estate Agent were to comment on such a thing, it could be steering which is a prohibited act.
