I think it depends on what chapter you filed. Your home may not have been included with your bankruptcy to begin with.

You have been making your payments and your home has not been foreclosed on so I don't think there should be any issues.

Sounds like you need to speak with your bankruptcy attorney. My wife as an attorney but she does not practice bankruptcy she has good friends that do. If you need a referral I could get you some contacts.

Lorie Gould answered:
April,

It could take 3 to 6 months for this home to re-enter the market place. If you have the time and you really love this home then it might be worth the wait. If it did not sell at the steps then it will eventually list. Is the home at the steps tomorrow?

In the meantime, look at the new listings that hit the market as you may find a home that makes you forget about this home.

You deal with a bank on both a bank owned property and a short sale. Actually, REO properties (bank owned) are easier to work with and take less time for response.

Best of Luck!
