I agree with most of the answers.
Rent with option to buy is great for a seller in many ways:

You usually have a renter whom treats the home as if it is their own because hopefully it will soon be their own home.

You usually get list price for the home with very little negotiating of the price.

You get a large payment upfront.

I hope this helps.

I tried to do the same and Im a licensed RELATOR and it would not let me. In fact I had to give my phone which led to another REALTOR call me about it without disclosing that to me. As a consumer, I would claim about that deception! I would! Trulia wants agents to buy their service to gain leads generated by the supposed free offering of a listing - probably a minor computer glich- wink wink
thanks

Hi Judy,

I've attached a link to my website if you'd like to take a look.

I grew up in Lisle. Parents still live over in Oak Hill South. I have two potential listings coming up in Green Trails in the coming month. Right now have a condo listing in the Oaks at Green Trails. Have friends who moved into the Meadows and am very knowledgeable on all things Lisle.

If you are talking to several agents I'd love to at least introduce myself here and have an opportunity to talk to you about what your needs are here in Lisle. See if we might be a good fit in accomplishing your goals. If you'd like to talk more here is my information. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do. My cell phone is: 773-851-3654. Email: mike@mikelongrealty.com.

Hi Tatyana.
I guess if I thought I could do it myself as well as an agent, I would give it a try!
Good luck,
Ken

Hi Jamie- Looks like you are in Lisle. Did you use a "Main Street Organization of Realtors Lease"? If so, on the 2nd page of the lease....paragraph 6.....is the information on commission. It should have the commission amount for the lease, including if there is a renewal or extension and a commission amount if the tenants purchase the home. If you have any questions about the information in your lease, you should contact a real estate attorney.

I hope this helps!

If you looked at the homes, like yours, that sold since July, what would you find? Do you know how many have sold? Lots probably.

You don't need a motivated agent. You need a seller who is motivated. Motivation is defined as "needs to sell".

If a home sits on the market for nine months, any buyer will tell you that it is over-priced. Rather than blame the agent, who perhaps was not aggressive enough with you, the seller, take a more positive approach.

If other homes are selling, then why not mine? Ask your Realtor that question. If they cannot answer the question, then you need to ask them "If I hired you to sell my home, and you don't know why it's not selling, what do you think I should do?"

There are very few problems in the sale of a home that a price reduction will not solve.

Good luck.

The average market time for active listings in Lisle is about 250 days (8.3 months), which is right about where you are now. I'd be curious to know how much activity/showings have you gotten? Is it listed with a Realtor now or By Owner? What kind of feedback have you received? Have you adjusted your price since its been listed?

I market homes using a mix of conventional & traditional methods, as well as aggressive online marketing (a lot more than just realtor, com!) All I promise is that if I was your agent I would work hard and do my best to get it sold.

I've included a link with more details about my marketing plan if you are interested. Thanks and good luck!
