I am challenging my assesment, and they are looking for 2009 comps. that is the year they are referencing. That are not interested in current comps. One of my investment properties is assessed for $30k more than I paid for it.

Yes, it is a 35% reduction of your assessment/tax obligation.

This comment was received from the lincoln town tax accessor. Essentiallly, take your property assessment and multiply by 65% and that is your tax for a owner occupied resident of Lincon. I am a licensed Realtor here in RI. As mentioned, we have ways of filtering out homes that meet your criteria. But we don't go out to all of these homes to see them first. I understand that buying a home is time consuming and I would do anything possible to ensure your time is not wasted. Many listing agents put multiple pictures of the homes in MLS so that we can get a better picture and we can call the listing agent to get more about the home before proceeding to make an appointment.

As a local Realtor I would say that you should meet with a few local agents and get a feel for how we can help you. In my opinion you can only be sure that someone has your best interest in mind after meeting them and confirming for yourself that they are working for you and you trust them with your biggest financial decision.
