Hello, Ann:

Merry Christmas and thanks for your inquiry. Here are some resources to get you started.

There are town profiles in a standard format at this website http://www.nhes.nh.gov/elmi/products/cp/index.htm

From here you can learn about counties or towns. Note that the property tax information on the profiles is typically a couple of years out of date. There is a section on the profile covering the public schools that serve each one and from there you can go to the school district websites for more details or you will have the correct name of the district to search.

There are several private secondary schools in what I call the White Mountain Gateway area or not too far away: Holderness School www.holderness.org/, New Hampton School www.newhampton.org/, San Bani School www.santbanischool.org/ in Sanbornton, or Mt. Cardigan School in Canaan https://www.cardigan.org which is for boys grades 6-9 (a crucial stage for boys if you think about it). Also in the area are Laconia Christian Academy www.tiltonschool.org/, Tilton School www.tiltonschool.org/, For more schools go to this website http://www.privateschoolreview.com/state_private_schools/stateid/NH and search under Grafton and Belknap Counties.

The 2013 property tax rates for the period April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014 are mostly set now and can be found at this website. http://www.revenue.nh.gov/munc_prop/property-tax-rates-related-data/2013/documents/2013TaxRateReport.pdf

Please let me know more about your real estate wants and needs and I will be glad to set up a customized search that ensures you see everything on the market that might work for you.

My wife Maggie, associate broker at Roche Realty Group, and I look forward to serving you and your family in the coming year.

Warmest Holiday Greetings,

Varies per development area. Contact your local Realtor and they should give you good insight for specific areas. Good question because that due will be tied into your monthly mortgage payment and you want to make sure you will benefit from the amenities that each HOA offers. ... more

Oh, PS, values did drop a little bit over the past few years, but it has definitely not been a bloodbath here, like other places. I would say our condo reached a high value of maybe $200,000 and is now worth maybe $180,000. But we also rented our condo out which has made it a profit center which has definitely offset the loss in value. ... more
