Looks like you already received some good information below. $60K-$80K is not realistic for a gulf access home as stated below. You can find very nice condos on a canal for less than single family homes. However, there are monthly condo fees and you would need to make sure the association is finacially sound. The problem of time wasting occurs when a home is listed on the bigger reciprocity sites (like Trulia or Realtor.com for example). These sites "pull" from the regional MLS and can take a day or two to catch up with changes in price or status. The best way I have found to avoid wasting your time as a buyer, is to work with an agent who uses Listingbook. This is a tool which the agent can give you which pulls directly from the MLS to you. It is updated every 30 minutes and will eliminate this time wasting gap in the information you are getting. I use Listingbook and would by happy to help you.
