Hi Gerard, I hope that you have been able to find an affordable rental. The apartment guide has always been a good place to find rental apartment communities in the area, and you can usually pick up a copy at your local grocery store. Other than that, Real Estate Agents in the area are sometimes contracted by landlords to list single family/townhouses/condominiums for rent which would go to places like Trulia, Realtor.com, etc. Best of luck to you in the search. ... more

Hello! I suggest you look into Vacation rentals. Those are more flexible with leases and you can find pet friendly rentals. You can look places like Craigslist, VRBO or AirBnB.

Hello!

No it's not too early to look. It's mid-June and properties available August are starting to come on the market. Looking early, especially when relocating, is never a bad idea anyway. You may not get the properties you are looking at but it will give you a better idea of the area and what you can get for your rent range, so that when it is time to make a decision you can be most confident in what you've chosen.

Lawrenceville/ Pennington/ Hopewell are all within my area of expertise. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me.

It might be tough with the credit issue, I STRONGLY recommend speaking with a mortgage professional that can run your credit and tell you what you need to do to strengthen your profile. Any listing on the MLS/ Any landlord will need to verify your credit profile to ensure that they will get paid consistently. You may perhaps offer a significantly larger deposit to offset this issue but that is on a case by case basis. Lawrence has great schools and a small town atmosphere, I wish you the best of luck. ... more

This is an excellent area. You are located close to major highways and have access to plenty of public parks. The reviews however are mixed. Apartment rentals are hit or miss. I would suggest working with a real estate agent to rent a condo or townhouse which will be more like a home. Let me know how I can help you.
