That seems like an easy one. Your accountant and mortgage broker will be able to answer that question for you. But I can say that because of the historical rise in prices over the last forty years in Marin County, that you might have greater flexibility in terms than in most parts of the country. Even with prices falling in other parts of the country, prices in Larkspur and Marin County are edging up. As for offering an amount, a good look at comparables of recent SOLDS and ACTIVES will tell you if the home is priced aggressively. Like Mill Valley, Larkspur is one of the older towns in the county and one of the best places to live. People take great pride in the homes, and it keeps getting better. Trees are mature and lush, and the town feels like a big garden dotted with homes. ... more

There are some really good loan and mortgage brokers that I have had the pleasure to work with here in Marin County. I would be happy to provide you with their names and Companies. At Wells Fargo in Corte Madera I would recommend Alber Saleh, and at Bank of America...Kevin Oneill.
I do have other resources for different kinds of loans and financial needs.
