Hi Joan, Currently there are no newer neighborhoods with the water view you are requesting in your price point. I would recommend Lake Wylie Woods. There is a condo community and several have water views. The units are older, however, many have been remodeled. In your price point, you could even purchase one that has not and remodel it to your specifications while still keeping in budget. Call me if you'd like to take a look! ... more

We are selling our home with the master suite on the main floor. There are two bonus rooms upstairs and 3 additional bedrooms. We have extra parking at the end of the driveway for a 3rd vehicle. The home is located in The Landing on Lake Wylie which has facilities for canoe and kayak storage near the community swimming pool, dock and boat slips. Here is a link to the virtual tour:

It is very difficult to find a single story home as you know, but there may be a lot available for building in this neighborhood or Mill Creek Falls if you have time for building exactly what you want.

Although Don is right....I with you... it is so annoying because we know what communities have pools. I would have your Realtor search description for the word pool... it often talks about the pool in the description when it is in the backyard. It will not pull up all listings with pools but it sometimes does isolate the list a little better... I do serveral trick searches to get what I am looking for when things like that happen.

Good Luck!!!
Kindest Regards,
Dianne Hicks

I am currently house hunting. I was interested in a FSBO house, but thought it was way overpriced for the market and location. I visited the website regularly to see if the owner had finally come to his/her senses and reduced the price. So, although it may appear you have many hits for your house, it could just be two or three house hunters checking to see if you have lowered your price. In my experience, FSBO homes tend to be overpriced for the current market. Just a thought... ... more

The job market in the area is still pretty good. We have seen some slow down because of the economy but "things" are still happening. The widening of Hwy. 49 from Lake Wylie to Charlotte has really opened things up. Lots of new stores, restaurants, and shops on the North Carolina side. Most located around the Hwy. 49 and Hwy 161 intersection at the new Rivergate shopping center. Several medical facilities are planned. A new shopping center is being built now in Lake Wylie with Lowes and Super Wal-Mart being the anchors with several outparcels for Walgreen, McDonalds, Taco Bell, a couple of banks, and others. All that means more jobs. Good luck with your decision! ... more
