King of Prussia is a great place to live. I have lived here for more then 30 years and have practiced Real Estate her for about 10 years. My children grew up here and attended the schools.
The location and the taxes are what people like most about King of Prussia. You have to come here to go anywhere. Most roads cross here in King of Prussia.
Feel free to contact me anytime about living in this great place. i would love to show you around

I doubt anyone really answered your question, most Real Estate agents hover around here to get a quick easy buyer who is vulnerable and new to the area. (keep away from them).
Now to answer the question.

Norristown (low income crime area)
KOP (mostly retail, older homes, a few nice townhomes) you could do better
Wayne Radnor (high income, low crime, after your 1st million look here)
Paoli/Malvern (upper middle class, great schools, lovely area) check on prices. single family 350 doubtful
Chester Springs (middle class, good schools, slightly higher taxes) you will get a NEW single family for 360. great deals because of new homes.
Downingtown / coastville (good schools, good price etc) too far away.
Newtown square (nice though overly hyped high tax area, stay away, beware of builders here)
Plymouth meeting (decent nice neighborhood, within your price range, too close to norristown)
Lafayette Hill (you will love this area, within your price range, pls consider)
Phoenixville (blue collar, decent schools/taxes, many homes on the market)
Oaks/Audubon (tiny areas, good areas to consider, new homes)
Collegeville (middle class, good schools, many homes on the market)

My Advice, there are many homes on the market, do not buy where you find inventory that is more than 10 months supply (these were realtor hyped and bust areas). Consider new constructions (great deals, won't last more than 4 months). Stay away from realtors, do you own research, there are many sites, when you have chosen your area find a realtor who is recommended. Stay away from foreclosure towns (these areas will not recover for years and you could loose your equity before a realtor can say 'great home')

There is a brand new one in Upper Providence Township, in Oaks. From KOP take 422 West to the Oaks exit, take a left onto Egypt Road at the bottom of the ramp. Go about a mile or so, pass the Sunset Grill, take a left on Longford Road, cross the railroad tracks, and the park is on your left. ... more
