You can search for homes in that area using the actual Louisville MLS on my website. It is the full-search of the new system, that Realtors use!

The best resource when it come to crime rates in a given area is your local Police department in this case you would want to give the Florence Police department a call at 859.371.5491

Please give me a call or send me text if there is anything I can do to help 859-496-7446

We are unable to answer questions like these yet you can check with the police department in the area, google the neighborhood to see whats going on there. You have to do your home work when buying as these are discriminatory questions and whats called steering for the areas. You are the person who knows what you feel comfortable in and not... everyone is different so you must do your homework and chose if it right for you or not. Hope this helps you. ... more

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local authorities with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods. http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ https://www.crimereports.com/http://www.homefair.com/ ... more

The home at 605 Smith Chapel Rd is a bank owned home, and the breakers and A/c were missing when the listing started. So no exactly sure what happened to them.

Liz, my office is on 4th and Hill St. I've been in Old Louisville since 2004. Within the limits of Old Louisville, I've only witnessed petty crime- car window breaks and graffiti. Just as the others have said, I feel very safe here. The 4th Division of Louisville Metro Police is a block away and over two dozen of the officers are my personal friends. I've ridden with them throughout the years and witnessed the higher degree crimes outside of Old Louisville. As a rule of thumb, the closer you are to UofL, the higher the concentration of students and higher priced rentals. This is typical of universities across the country. The private market rents will keep just below the pace/ cost of the housing on campus. You can google crime reports from the Louisville Metro government which will show a map and type of crime report taken. ... more

Michael Thacker answered:
Another way to get a local perspective on crime is to visit the website for the neighborhood association for that area. You can just type in the streets you are interested in and usually Google will bring up the neighborhood association as a link.

Like many have already said, it is a great area, well traveled and very much a "neighborhood", so crime is usually petty at worse. Then again, you do always want to be "aware", but that is anywhere these days, not just Louisville!

All the best!

What amount or type of crime would be acceptable or unacceptable to someone is impossible to determine by another individual. We all have different tolerances. I feel that prospective buyers should drive by a property that they are interested several times, at different times of day.

Believe it or not, the best person or agency to talk to about crime statistics in Louisville, is the Louisville Metro Police Department (502) 574-7111 or (502) 574-2111. Just contact them and give them the property address you are interested in.
