Good Morning Cheryl,

Chuck did a wonderful job with the definitions of What conservation land is. I would like to add in brief that in virtually all cases once a land is labeled and then deeded into conservation land, it will always be conservation land. In most cases you have builders who are trying to build on a part of a large lot who place any environmental sensitive parts of teh land into conservation for the town allowing them to build on another part of teh lot. The 2nd way is when a town or an organaization get a grant, gift or raise money to purchase tracts of land to preserve for future generations to enjoy, woods, fields, orchards, watersheds and or the animals and plant species that may be on the land. I hope i could help. Thank You ... more
