We have the same problem. People cut through our neighborhood. My kids cannot go and play outside without me because of it. The police won't help. The HOA doesn't "like to put speed bumps in the neighborhood". A dog was hit and killed the other day. Wait until it is someone's child. I bet they'll put in speed bumps then. People around here drive like bats out of hell. It straight up sucks. ... more

Felicia, I am sure you have found the Park & Ride close to the location you link to, however, in case you have not, your best one would be the Grand Parkway Park and Ride, which they may move to Katy Mills area, or the Kingsland Park and Ride .

Just so you know, many commuters use the park and ride area and catch rides with passenger vehicles who pick up riders so that they can run the HOV lane into Houston. Those riders exit the vehicle and get back on at night from Smith Street and Louisiana. ... more

Public transportation is a challenge for the Houston Metropolitan area. Brookshire is west of Houston and is a rural area. Car ownership is almost a necessity because of the sprawling nature of this area. Houston is setup like a wagon wheel with downtown Houston as the center and other major areas at the perimeters, but unfortunately there just isn't much public transportation. Traffic in the Katy area is great...Houston...not so much. But it is better from Katy because of the new Westpark Tollway...and the expansion of I-10!
