I also feel that my home information is incorrect. My square footage is listed as 960, but the outside of the house measures 30 ft by 40 ft and I have a partial basement with a finished bathroom. The record also says that I have 1.5 bathrooms, but both of my bathrooms have a toilet, sink, and place to shower.

I worry that the incorrect information will make it more difficult to sell my home, but until that day, I'm also worried that if I correct the information, it will raise my property taxes.

What about trading homes. Giving this one for one already in live in condition even if we have new loan but the other could be fixed up and making tons of money.

You can submit your home at http://www.trulia.com/submit_listings/ but be aware that your exposure is very limited when you choose to do this. Submitting your home like this does NOT put it into the MLS system. The majority of buyers are using a real estate agent and they will not see your home listed while they are searching. Good agents also encourage their clients not to use Trulia or Zillow during their house hunting due to the highly inaccurate data, because of this you will most likely not be seen.

If you want to list your home in the MLS you'd either need to hire an agent who can walk you through the process or you can try listing it yourself at a website like http://www.listingexpress.com/ Just be aware that if you do it on your own you will not have anyone representing you during your home sale.

I am a real estate agent licensed with ReeceNichols and I could help answer any other questions you may have about the process if you'd like to email me at KatherineReed@ReeceNichols.com

It probably won't help. Homeowners may not like the added traffic. You might check and see if it's a legally zoned home business.

There are a few variables that could altar the net answer to that question...Are you on the deed solo because your purchased the home prior to getting married? Or because there was a quick claim deed recorded post-divorce? Is the property located is KS or MO? Is the divorce official, and have you satisfied your financial obligations in regards to the property in question per your divorce decree? Without knowing the answers to these questions, a lender should not definitively answer that question. ... more
