Susan,
It depends, which one of you has sold more homes and had more experience? Hardwood floors are popular, if they are in good condition. Your rugs are personal property and won't be staying with the home. Even if you want to leave them, they may not match the buyer's furnishings and preferences. ... more

Yes, there are golf courses nearby. Bent Tree, Big Canoe, and Crystal Falls are the closest. I suggest Golf Now for discount rates at these courses. We are members at Bent Tree and I would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. My son golfs 3-4 times per week so I am sort of an expert on local courses. I am also a resident of Jasper, GA.

You're question doesn't make a lot of sense. You'll need to be more specific and perhaps give either the address or a link to the property so that people know what you're talking about?

Rkeim,

Yes you can, but Rodney is 100% correct in his post. As long as this is a permanent Relocation verified by your employer this should not be a problem. However you will need to occupy the residence within 30-60 of closing.
The biggest hurdle most people face when relocating is the debt to income ratio used for lending approval. If you do not have at least 30% equity in your current residence (I'm assuming you own a home in FL) and have a tenant under contract to lease your home, or have a pending sales contract on your existing home then both mortgage payments will be counted against you. This can make qualifying harder for some people.

Sincerely,

Chris Irvin

Per square foot cost is determined by the total cost of the materials and labor to build a home divided by the total square foot of the home. If you choose a $300 GE Range (as an example) vs. a $10,000 Viking range your per square foot cost would be very different. If you choose a $2 sq. ft. carpet vs. a $40 sq. ft. exotic hard wood floor, your per square foot cost would be similarly impacted. There are hundreds of construction options from which to choose that impact the square foot cost. My point here is a square foot cost is simply not an accurate barometer by itself from which to value a home. The only way to accurately value new construction is to add up all the costs.

To suggest there is an average cost per square foot is also incomplete. The average expectation for one person who has always had laminate counter tops, stock kitchen cabinets and modest carpet will be different from the expectations of someone that has always had granite counter tops, custom kitchen cabinets and exotic hard wood floors. "Average" is in the eye of the beholder.

Consult a reputable Builder to get a real number. Happy to help with that as we offer Architectural Design services, General Contracting and Real Estate services in one office at Modern Rustic Homes. Here are a few links that may be helpful:
