I tend to agree with the agents that have already answered this, in that financing and homework are a good place to start.
Talking with a lender should be an exchange, learning where you are now, and where you want to be. With a little luck you qualify for a loan that meets your expectations for purchase price and monthly payment. And with a little luck your lender can patiently and clearly answer any questions you might have. I've been helping first time buyers for over 20 years, and I'd like to think I could answer your questions and even anticipate a few you may not even know to ask. With that in mind I recommend all first time home buyers (and even many move-up buyers) attend a home buyer workshop. To find one in your neighborhood, check out the MN Home Ownership Center web site at www.hocmn.org. Then if you have any questions, give me a call.
Good luck in your home search
