You should reach out to a Realtor when you are readying to come to Chicago and let that person know what you are looking for. Orlando, I agree with you, the brown house shown in the photo is not 3705 N Spaulding Ave. I know this because I have lived at 3705 for over 16 years and I assure you this house is not on Troy St. In small print below the photo of the brown house its given address is 3285 W. Waveland Ave. This info was probably supplied by Google Maps and deduced because Spaulding is 3300W and it is an odd number because it is on the north side of the street. This house is located at the northeast corner of Spaulding and Waveland. Within Trulia, a search of 3285 W Waveland will turn up no results. If you search 3701 N Spaulding you will find the rental listing for this house, but it is not accurate. Here is the accurate Zillow link:
For any area you are considering, I always advise people to drive around the neighborhood at night. Do a little research and talk to store owners in the neighborhood. Ask them about crime and how things are. They have no dog in the fight and will give you a direct answer. As realtors, we are not allowed to comment on what is a "good" neighborhood.... more
Oh my I wish I could just simply say YES or NO, but first of all as REaltors we are limited to what to say about an area or neighborhood as it could be perceived as steering in or out of an area and that is
against the law....
So here is my advice to you and I do understand your concern, believe me I do.
drive through the neighborhood at different times of the week and build your own opinion and then
stop by the local police dept, they will gladly give you good information.
And no matter where to young girls live, the best advice, no matter what area, be careful, keep your eyes open at all times, this general advice cannot hurt.

Lots of renters in these two neighborhoods. Close to the train and usually cheaper rent then being closer to the inner city. You can also find some great multi-unit buildings for great prices in these neighborhoods. Plus Old Irving is going through a bit of a "beautification" process that should draw some more businesses to the neighborhood and keep people around.
I'm not sure if that helps. If you had a more specific question, I bet you'd get more responses.
If you don't like the service move on to another broker. Keep in mind that this market is tough on sellers, and you need to be patient. The only way to move a property fast is to lower the price.... more
