Agent can show you properties. You just need to come prepared to rent when you look.
Rental properties move fast, so you'll want to come with your application filled out, letter of employment from your new employer, and your application fees and deposit.

There are not that many properties available typically in any one price range, so normally you can knock them out in 2-3-4hours.

I suggest 3 bed if you can get it. It can appeal to a different population of buyers/renters. I even see singles in 3bedroom places. Obviously there is a market for 2bed homes and even 1 bedroom homes, but 3/2 is standard.

2000sqft rent....?..depends on the place/quality/age/location. In Las Colinas and new, perhaps $1700/month or so.

I disagree that the code of ethics prevents a professional opinion regarding your questions and concerns. That's the essence of our profession - advice and opinion. Carole, you have touched on a lot of important questions and concerns. Can I be of assistance to you? I have lived in Las Colinas for going on 20 years, and have sold here and in Preston Hollow, Farmers Branch - just about anywhere you might consider close in as your mentioned areas indicate. You have a lot of info to cover in your questions - consultation might be easier for you-and certainly a lot more thorough than an online forum. I would be happy to consult with you, no fee or obligation at all, or to simply help you by allowing you to pick my brain. The rules here on Trulia do prevent me from providing you with my number but you can always click on my profile to get in touch.

Carole, I also have an SRES designation - Senior Real Estate Specialist. I would be happy to chat with you any time.

I list them all on my website. http://www.SumnerRealty.com
Most of them are accessible as links by the named city on this page

For your search around Las Colinas, I would suggest the following

By the way, technically no website lists them all, because those offered by owners are not listed in the MLS.

I would find a coach first and see if they're willing to travel to Irving since that seems to be your priority. Being close to work and having a good coach. For example would a coach from Aubrey be willing to travel to Irving for two days a week? I would think so. I've been around horses and horse people my whole life and traveling for shows, training, ferriers is part of it. ... more

Hi Michael,

I would suggest Las Colinas or Valley Ranch. It really all depends what your buyers are looking for and their price range.

I work with an excellent builder in that area, look me up I'm the servant! You don't have enough info yet! $150-$300k is too big of a range. You need to know sold comps for the closest kinds of properties to yours in that neighborhood. No I do not think you'd be overbuilding. It all depends on how much you have to pay the builder and what price you acquired the lot at. best of luck ... more
