Hi Ricki,
Don't listen to these phony liars here there are many negatives: If you dont use at least #30 Sunblock you will get serious sunburn in FL, If you go out to enjoy the nightlife you might stay out too late and be late for work the next day. You might find it so affordable you might end up buying 2 places and then an investment property, you can go on fishing boats here and bring home fresh dinner and might end up losing weight, you might enjoy tennis, exercise and walks at the beach and might give up all your RX medications as your health increases, you might meet alot of nice people that may call you to keep getting together, you might end up being forced to spend more moey on buying a boat that you can use year round or find a place on the water to dock it in your back yard, you might enjoy the fine dining so much that you keep draining your bank account eating out too much, your friends might get mad at you for having a place to visit in FL and get jealous, your relatives will get mad if you dont buy them tickets to come here to watch the winter boat parade on the intercoastal, Okay I'll stop now since I live here and enjoy it very much. I'll be glad to help find you the perfect place to live in here!

Delray Beach is an area that provides great opportunities for familes. It has great places for entertainment and great beaches for you to enjoy your time with friends and family. I have not met anyone who comes to visit and would love the opportunity to relocate. I suppose if I had to identify a negative is that is city living at it's best, if someone is looking for a secluded country type enviroment...Delray may not be the place to start. There are many great options in South Florida to explore and Delray would be a great start.

Dear Ricki,

Too much beach, To much Sun, To many good restaurants ? To many nice people? Spend some time in Del Ray Beach you will come to know whether you would enjoy living their or not.

Its all subjective

Ricki,

Only buy in East Delray. You'll have a blast! Lots of fun, tons to do! Restaurants, galleries, clubs, bars, the beach!

Don't buy in West Delray, you'll fall asleep watching the grass grow! This is my opinion only, BUT, it's true.

GOOD LUCK!

Hi Ricki,

My parents and brother live down that way. My parents were in Boca Raton and moved to Lake Worth. My brother still lives in Boca Raton and used to live in Delray Beach. Most towns have their pros and cons, like anywhere else. Florida does have great deals, in my opinion, and this should continue through 2010.

The most important thing right now is that we don't know what YOUR NEEDS are. We don't know if you have kids and what ages (school systems can be critical even if you don't have kids), what commuting needs you might have, what price range is appropriate, whether you prefer a house or condo, and so many other things that we can't guess at.

If you would please outline your situation, then these folks can better understand what might be a fit for you?

Hi Ricki,
There may be some negatives depending on where you intend to live. Each community, neighborhood, and building (if considering a condo) has its pluses and minuses.
Selecting an objective Realtor is your best bet. Anyone depicting a rosy picture is just selling you hard...

Hi Ricki,

I am myself am a crecent Delray Beach resident since 2008. I had moved from Broward County and haven't regret it for one moment. There are plenty of activites going on for all age groups. Downtown is great for an evening out or for the family during the day. Hi, Ricki. Why do you think there are any negatives to living in Delray Beach? It's quite nice. It has a charming and fun downtown with a lot of shopping, restaurants and a gorgeous beach. There are good schools. You are near a lot of things. Sounds like you're considering a move to Delray Beach and perhaps another city. It's an important decision and you should give it a lot of thought. I am from South Florida and am very familiar with this area. Please call or email you if I can be of any help to you. My cell # is 561-445-8743 and my email address is Nicole@BuySellBoca.com

Hi Ricki,
As far as I know.....there really aren't any negatives to living in Delray Beach. It's now a very trendy place to live. If you have younger school age children, there are probably better school districts, but that's clearly subjective. Feel free to give me a call to discuss your particular needs. You can reach me at: 561-289-3585

It's slightly warmer than West Palm Beach :-)

Seriously, It's hard to answer that question without knowing your specific concerns. If you want to discuss it further I can give you a comparison of the different communities and let you make your own decision.
