When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

Hello srorourke,
Here are a couple of links to crime data and other relevant information about Stratford. The second link is a web site that a group of volunteers in the town have produced to assist it's residents.

Please, know that real estate agents are not allowed to make comments about one neighborhood being better than another. This is called "steering".

Hope this is helpful to you.

Good luck!

I'm not a real estate agent so I can legally answer that question for you without being vague.

I live in the same zip code as you. That doesn't mean all that much though as it's a pretty big area. Crime is much higher in some areas than in others. Over by my house, not from from Nichols Elementary School, there isn't' much crime but there is some.

In the ten years I have been here there have been about five cars ransacked, yes every time the car was left unlocked, and one house way broken into, You guessed it, that house was left unlocked too.

I feel safe here and I think you will too.
