Carmelia,
Another good website is http://dc.everyblock.com/locations/neighborhoods/woodley-par… - this follows the crime beat in a blogger style and you can search by neighborhood. This link I posted is specific to Woodley.

Yes. I have lived here 45 years in the neighborhood.

Occasionally there is an incident but we are talking fewer than 4 in 45 years.

While it doesn't necessarily address safety, you should also check out http://www.walkscore.com for more information on the walkability of any address in the city. The website also includes a "Transit Score" to rank how close the address is to transit options (Metro, bus lines, etc.).

In washington, DC, no, it is not safe to walk after dark. Not particularly safe during the day either.

Hi Carmella, I grew up in that neighborhood - great location - so busy now with all the tourists coming from the Sheraton Park Hotel and the new commerical efforts along Connecticut Avenue.
DC is not a big city but it has all the big city characteristics. Check with your local police department, just walk in and introduce yourself and they will answer lots of questions for you.

Les

By law we cannot talk about crime in a certain area. However I would suggest using this link below as a resource as well.

Click Neighborhood Information,

Hi

As a realtor we cannot talk about crime in any particular neighborhood. I would reocmmend you look at the DC police website and call them to ask about crime in a particular neighborhood. Woodly Park does have a number of restaurants along CT Ave NW, as well the metro as the National Zoo going up CT towards Cleveland Park.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks

Melissa

As you know no neighborhood is 100% safe. I suggest you go to the DC crime statistics page on the DC.GOV website (http://mpdc.dc.gov/mpdc/cwp/view,a,1239,Q,543308,mpdcNav_GID…) check out where you would be walking and then make your own assessment , since only you know how fearful or fearless you are.
