When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

real estate agents cannot give advice on safety of neighborhoods. You can check crime stats in the area or do your own due diligence andwalk around and speak to neighbors and store owners, etc...

My advise is to refer the NYPD website, they'll give you the stats. If you have any questions regarding your real estate needs feel free to contact me. If you do move to the city, welcome it's a great town. I grew up here and it's a blast!!!

Hey Katie,

If you scroll down on the property listing and click on the Crimes tab, you will see the recent types of crime on a heat map:

Looks like the surrounding area is pretty safe, but there are absolutely some higher level crime rates in nearby areas.

Hope that helps, be safe!

You should ck the web stats and go to the neighborhood and see how you feel. Feelings of Safty and comfortable are very personal, it would be unwise for me to infuse my feelings into yours.

Good luck.
