What's it like to live in Masthope? Safety, quiet, friendly etc. Shopping fairly near by?

Thinking about moving there, need to know from the locals about the area especially since it got low ratings through trulia.

Take online "ratings" with a grain of salt. It's best to visit the location personally.

Ultimately the bottom line is going to be - do the amenities work for you and your family? In the winter, Masthope shines as far as skiing is concerned. Homeowners enjoy the fact that season lift tickets (for immediate family members - parent,s grandparents, children, grandchildren, up to 12 total) at no additional cost on top of the dues. There are also cross country ski trails and ATV's are allowed. There is a restaurant, deli/convenience store, lunch counter, and arcade on top of the mountain. Yes, renters and guests are charged an additional fee. This is normal for almost any community.

Masthope is the only community in Wayne or Pike County that offers ALL of the following: horseback riding, skiing, allows ATV's, access to the Delaware River, swimming beach and outdoor swimming pool, motorboat lake Westcolang, and much more.

The entire area is more quiet in the winter - but Masthope is the only game in town for Wayne and Pike County (at the current time) for skiing.

I am not overly impressed with Masthope. If you are a have to pay for certain ammenities such as the gym, skiing and stables. This is a mostly summertime community. Winters are lonely up here on top of the mountain.

Masthope community is about 20 minutes from the town of Hawley, where you can find an urgent care center, two grocery stores, dentists, a pharmacy, multiple restaurants, and more. Masthope itself has a convenience store on site where you can purchase all of your necessary staples - from milk and eggs to small hardware items as well!

The community employs a full time public safety patrol as well. I grew up in the area and know it very well and will be happy to assist you. :)
