I agree with Fannie. No school is going to be perfect but in this area, there have been quite a few things happening in the schools. Its an affordable area but I'm also looking to relocate to another area before my girls get into middle and high school, up north preferrably. You can also go to greatschools.org for ratings and to get an idea of the schools including reviews. wish you luck!

I actually live in this area currently, So happy I'm moving and while it is very affordable for a single parent the school district is Spring ISD and my teens are in high school. The high schools for 77014 are Westfield or Dekaney Very! Very! poor schools...Lots of fights and due to over crowding, Dekaney is known for having riots. I hope this was helpful.

Hi Lawrence,

Just curious, why did you pick this specific area? Are you relocating from MN? When you say "good public school for girls" I'm assuming you mean a public school to send your daughters to. There are many better areas than the area in question.

For any crime concerns you may have, for accurate and up to the minute information do contact/visit the local authorities and ask all you questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand--also do take the time and visit the area more than once, drive around, poosbly chat with locals, etc., then make your determination--as for the schools see link....
