I recommend that you go to this neighborhood link that I found.
It tells you everything about the neighborhoods in Chicagoland including a section that has "What's on the menu" which is where you will find a brief description of the area restaurants.

Here is the link.

Best of luck!

Argyle in uptown have good Asian restaurants too. King of thai noodles has good crispy lad na chicken, tank noodles has good Vietnamese food. Sunwah has good Chinese food especially their roast duck.

The city is so diverse. It really depends on you taste. Taylor Street area for great Italian Food, West Town has a number of trendy great restaurants, Chian Town has always been a favorite of mine, North Center, etc. My favorite thing to do is decide what I am going to eat and many times you will find a neighborhood where you will find the best.

Enjoy Chicago. Also check out food articles in the Chicago Reader!

How big is your appetite?

Anywhere you look there is food.

For dessert try:

Margie's Candies

It depends on what your taste is however if you want a very unique and unknown place check out May St. Cafe in the Pilsen area, just South of China Town. Another great place is Shokran.. amazing and the most authentic Moroccan food you will find unless you are invited into someones home in Morroco.
