I suggest checking out Montgomery County's education site. Their site gives all of the vital info you'll need in deciding on a school, i.e., test scores, student-teacher ratios, etc. http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/regulatoryacc…
I live in Takoma Park and love it!

There is a great tool (also available for the iPhone) to review crime statistics in any given area. That is http://www.crimereports.com. Check the site out on the web or get the app for your iPhone. You can research different zip codes to find out more about an area. Realtors cannot comment on crime and schools, but we can provide you the tools to do your own research. When you feel as though you like a particular area, drive around in the area at various times of the day and evening and on weekends to get a feel for the area before buying or renting.

Another great source for information about schools is the county school board (each should have a website). The school board provides ranking, diversity, teacher-student ratio, dollars spent per student and other great info. Also check out http://www.greatschools.org.

HI Terry,

As a Realtor, I can not really say what the schools are like. May I suggest you look for test scores online or contact the school board. If you need help buying, you can contact me. miekeba@heymannrealty.com.
