Vinton Street, Boston MA...what would you call this neighborhood?

Asked by Happyjerseyfam, New Jersey Thu Jul 5, 2012

Looking for some great restaurants in the area, but I'm not sure how to search...South End? South Boston? Downtown? I'd love some tips on how to look for places...or for just some great places to eat around this address. THANK YOU!!

Vinton Street is located in the Andrew Square section of South Boston, which is walking distance to the Red Line T Station. It is an up and coming section of South Boston where you get a lot more for your money than many other areas in South Boston

For restaurants within walking distance, you have the Stadium which is a sports bar/restaurant, 224 Boston Street which is a formal sit down place with excellent food, Cafe Polonia which serves Polish food, Alfredo's for awesome take-out pizza, and several other pizza places within walking distance. For a short drive, but still in South Boston, you have the Franklin Cafe at 152 Dorchester Ave which is a cool bar/restaurant, The Paramount on East Broadway which is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and many other local bars/restaurants on East & West Broadway.

This is considered South Boston (Southie). Just a couple of blocks down you have to go to Andrew SQ House Of Pizza (Amazing Subs).

Vinton Street would be considered South Boston. Your closest restaurants would be located in South Boston and many would be walking distance. South End would need a car/taxi/T ride.

It's Andrew Sq. in South Boston (Southie). there's a few neighborhood style restaurants nearby and you can walk to the redline to get downtown with more dining options or head to the seaport district via bus or cab for more upscale/business casual fare.
