The main club center is going to be Philadelphia, however, don't forget West Chester is a university town, so there is also action going on there, Phoenixville is another center that has things going on but they revolve more around bars and restaurants than clubs. Maybe a better location would be Manayunk, on the edge of the city, within city limit so you pay city wage tax but also close enough to suburbs that you can get out of town as well

For clubbing, only place to really go is downtown Philly. Consider the surrounding suburbs to be the "countryside", comprised of neighborhoods, each with a different personality. Similar to DC, these places are like Chevy Chase, Potomac and Rockville. Good Hunting!

Any area can be good. Here is a link for Malvern. The great thing is with public transportation or by car you are not far from Philadelphia, King of Prussia, West Chester, Villanova, Bryn Mawr as well as many other areas that you may find fun. It just depends on what you like.
