If you are strictly asking about the general sense of being "safe" in a neighborhood, yes Strawberry Park (a sub set of West San Jose) is very safe. It is mostly a community of SFR (single family homes) with small pockets of condos and townhomes. It is one of the most highly sought neighborhoods in San Jose.
One of the most important reason why it is sought is due to the school districts associated with this neighborhood. The majority will fall into the Moreland School District, which is a highly sought school district. And a small portion of the area on the western edge (near Lawrence Expressway) also feeds to the hightly sought Cupertino School District.
The area is nice and is close to 280 and major thorough ways like Saratoga Ave and San Tomas and Lawrence Expressway, There are lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance and some nice parks like Mise Park which may be walking distance some residents.
Excellent area. If you need insights into what it feels like to live there, please contact me.
