If you are strictly asking about the general sense of being "safe" in a neighborhood, yes Strawberry Park (a sub set of West San Jose) is very safe. It is mostly a community of SFR (single family homes) with small pockets of condos and townhomes. It is one of the most highly sought neighborhoods in San Jose.

One of the most important reason why it is sought is due to the school districts associated with this neighborhood. The majority will fall into the Moreland School District, which is a highly sought school district. And a small portion of the area on the western edge (near Lawrence Expressway) also feeds to the hightly sought Cupertino School District.

The area is nice and is close to 280 and major thorough ways like Saratoga Ave and San Tomas and Lawrence Expressway, There are lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance and some nice parks like Mise Park which may be walking distance some residents.

Excellent area. If you need insights into what it feels like to live there, please contact me.

The Strawberry Park neighborhood is a lovely condominium complex and is considered a desirable safe area to live. Even in 'good' neighborhoods the police will tell you that you need to be alert, keep your doors locked and be proactive on keeping yourself and your family safe.

My husband and I live in a very nice neighborhood in Santa Clara but yet I read all the time that crimes have been comitted in the area, but typically around the major commerical areas.

As other real estate agents/brokers have mentioned that if you want more information on crimes that have occurred in the area then go to .

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

No area in San Jose is free of crime. Of course, some are worse than others. Sometimes theives go to the better neighborhoods to steal because they often have better things to steal. If you visit you can see detailed information on crime in neighborhoods in San Jose that is derived from SJ Police Dept database. If you are concerned about safety for children, you might also want to check this website for registered sex offenders. An alarm system installed in your home could also give you some additional peace of mind.

Yes, it's a very safe place. More than 50 years ago when the area was developing housing, it had been fields of strawberries.

Yes West San Jose is considered by many to be a safe place to live.

Just so we're clear there is no neighborhood where there is absolutely no crime. Mostly in this area if there is something that happens it is usually theft. To prevent theft and breaking and entering most homeowners install security systems in their homes that are connected to the police.

Because of the schools and proximity to high paying jobs this area has less crime than a more condensed area like downtown san jose. If you really want to know what happens in terms of crime check out
