If you are concerned about safety, your best source of information is the local police department, why not visit/call ask all your questions, and hear all there is to hear firsthand--if you are not too familiar with the neighborhood, drive through more than once and at different times of day, look at everything that is important to you and possibly chat with neighbors/locals--then make your determination--will you be happy living there.

Dear Teppo,

Jeff gave you good advice and due to legal restrictions we can not advise if an area is safe. Regarding Papago Park I'd have to say it depends on your lifestyle as to it being a good area or not. As Jeff said, it is home to our zoo, the Desert Botanical Gardens and some sweet hiking and nature trails. It is also close to the airport and some don't like the noise. It is also close to the national guard station and some like that and some do not.

I'd suggest making a list of the qualities you are looking for in an area and base your research gathering on answering those quality of life based questions. If you need help forming a list, we have a questionnaire on our web site many say is helpful. The link to the site is below and just click on the home buying tab and you'll see the questionnaire there.

If we can be of further help, just let us know... best to you.

Dear Teppo:

Hi, here is a link for a "buyer's advisory" where you can get links to your questions about safety. Click: http://www.arizonahomesland.com/forbuyersorrenters.php Click on the link regarding Buyer's Advisory- Arizona Department of Real Estate. Realtors may not comment on this time of information due to equal housing regulations. However, the buyer's advisory provides buyer's with the tools that they need to obtain the information.

Looking back the past four years in Phoenix, no area has had stable prices. If you would like to pick a neighborhood, I can give you some specific information on historical prices.

Papago Park is known for its desert feeling with parks, zoo, Botanical Gardens and golf course in the middle of the city. Very nice.

If I can answer any other questions, feel free to ask me.

Regards, Jeff
