There are several different ways to manage rubbish removal. Sometimes, it is included in your city utility bill. If your neighborhood has an HOA, they might have a private contract. Just ask your neighbors about it.

Typically the city takes care of it, but if they aren't then you can hire a service to do it for you. I would recommend asking your neighbors how they have it taken care of. There are a lot of different services available to us these days concerning rubbish removal, and I'm sure you can find one that works for you. Good luck!

Lewis is right, you are going to have to talk to the city. Most of the time in the United States, they are the ones who take care of trash hauling. A lot of times they charge you a small amount like 5-10 bucks per month. But I would definitely talk to someone at the city hall or something.

I agree, there's usually one service that the city endorses. Just remember that big items (mattresses, furniture) need to be hauled separately. If you're going to remodel or something similar, I'd recommend hiring a different waste removal company. |

Generally trash removal is a weekly City utility.

If you are talking about trash removal from a home, then you get contract it out.

Good luck

We use Waste Tech, which is $34/month for a large barrel that is picked up once a week and they do offer recycling. With the amount that they charge at the landfill, our cost are comparable when considering the fee for the sticker and the hefty fee for each bag of trash dumped. Also considering the limited hours they are open and the affect on your vehicle (smell and cleaning needed), it's easy to make the choice for pick-up.

All towns are different. Here in Westport, we contract with someone or you can pay as you throw at the local dump. I find it easier to use ABC Disposal. They pick up at the curb weekkly and they take everything.

No problems - I have used them for the last 15 years.

Interesting, thanks for the insight. Some cities have everyone use a particular service, but this one doesn't seem to be that strict. I've never lived anywhere with private trash removal. This will be a new experience for me.

In the town of Rehoboth, MA it is private trash pick-up. There are several companies to chose from and their fees vary. Several offer free recycling as well. We also have a landfill in town. You can purchase a sticker from the town hall and bring your trash to the landfill yourself if you prefer.

You may wish to more specific with your question, as to where, what kind of trash, recycleables, bulk, etc.--if you are referring to a condo or co-op, management can best answer your question--or if you have an agent ask him/her for the information.

I think waste collection should have a certain day that they come to you. I would check with your neighbors or call the company to find out when they come. I would also figure out how your supposed to pay for the service.
