I live in Tamaqua and trust me, you won't see much of what you see in Reading. Crime is much lower here. Tamaqua is surrounded by small towns, which makes Tamaqua look bigger then the surrounding towns, but it's still pretty small compared to Reading. Of course, you'll see much of the small-town mentality here, which can be good and bad. All in all, I love living here!

I agree. Nice town and everything is in walking distance. Except Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, and the Dollar Tree.

You can go to > http://www.homefacts.com/crime < and you can get information on any neighborhood that you want information on. Because just as in any area it just depends on where you are looking.

For any crime concerns, do contact/visit the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area, do visit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors; real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
