Hello, I am thinking about buying a condo at the Venetia gardens in Homestead for rental income. Any info on vacancy rates or opinions?

The prices are low enough now that many investors are purchasing condos and are making a nice return on their rental income. I just sold a unit in Venetia Gardens II a few months ago and while recently searching for someone else, I have noticed the prices have increased a bit. Which is a good sign.

We desperately need furnished rentals because of the thousands of people relocating here to work at Turkey Point. Right now there aren't any furnished condos on the market in Homestead, so we are just taking down names & numbers of very qualified tenants. You can expect to get $150-200 more in rent per month for a furnished unit (basic furniture & necessities). Now is a great time to invest.

Lived and owned in Venetia Gardens 1 for thirteen years. I had to leave because the security and association treat tenants like you're living in a consecration camp. If you don't speak Spanish, don't bother even trying to say hello or talk to the security. If you want a friend or relatives over, not going to happen. Arrogant, unethical people run this place and I would not recommend living here.

I second Chris Blackwell's answer. A nice rental unit (cleaned, painted, perhaps new appliances) will rent quickly and for a good price in Homestead.
