Good Neighborhood?? Moving from West Coast, buying a house in West Central Irondequoit, on or near Bristol Ave off Cooper Road. Safe? Schools?

Asked by Logan Dance, Spokane, WA Thu May 5, 2011

Our offer was just accepted on a house within a few blocks of Bristol Avenue. Is this a safe neighborhood? I assume the high property taxes makes for some GREAT schools, right? Are the local schools' pools really open for local public use? Are the roads kept plowed in the winter?

On another note, if we were to arrive in the last week of June, is it too late to get some produce from a vegetable garden?

Good luck with your move -- if the garden isn't going to work for you ... we have a great public market on Saturdays and Tuesdays without having to get your hands dirty!

Since real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods, consider additional research of your own. For school information see link http://www.greatschools.org For any safety related questions contact the local authorities and ask all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand.
