Does the zoning in Woodland Park allow RVs in residential areas?

Asked by Diana Lea, Woodland Park, CO Sun Feb 26, 2012

? We would like a place with septic, water, electricity and some kind of garage/building that we could hook up to part of the year. OR what areas might we find something like this?

As far as parking an RV next to a home in Woodland Park the only problem could be with the Home Owners Association rules and regulations. It is OK as long as the Association does not object. However, if your plan is to find a piece of vacant land where you have septic, power, etc and want to bring your RV out every summer and live in it then there would be a problem with the city of Woodland Park. The city has allowed that on a temporary basis in the past when someone was building a home or when a friend came out to help repair a home, etc. but they would frown on such use as a vacation getaway. They would suggest that you use one of the RV parks in town.

In Teller County, however, one would be able to do this if the zone was R1M.

It depends more on the covenants for each individual community. You can visit my website at http://www.PikesPeakArea.com and visit the area neighborhoods and some of the neighborhoods have links to their community hoa sites where you can see the covenants. Let me know if that doesn't answer your question.
