Your best source of information regarding crime is the local police department; why not call/visit and ask all your questions--hear all there is to hear firsthand--or chat with the locals when the opportunity arises.

Hi Cynthia, Yes, I would also recommend that you contact the Thousand Oaks Police department. In addition, I would go to the neighborhood in the evenings, around dinner time and later on the weekends and observe the general activity. Everyone has a different tolerance of what "feels" acceptable to them. I know it sounds corny but listen to what your natural instincts tell you about the environment. It wont help you know if there are actual crimes or offenders but you will know if you are going to "feel" comfortable taking a walk at night.

Fair Housing Laws do not allow Real Estate Agents to discuss demographic issues. You will probably get some pretty evasive answers as the these laws are very serious.

Hi Cynthia,

I recommend that you speak with the local Police department. They will be able to answer your questions regarding neighborhood safety better that anybody. Best of luck!
