You likely signed an agreement for service before the beginning of the inspection. In it should be the terms, conditions and extent of liability for the inspector and/or his company. Read the agreement. Unless you have "actual" quantifiable damages, the best you can do may be a small/partial refund of the total price.
On the other hand, you wrote the word "obvious." Since it means "easily seen," it could be the items were not noted for that reason.
Anyway...Be kind when you call and mention your Agent as the person who recommended their service. I'm quite certain they will do a "little" something to make you happy.

Hi. Based on what I see in the area as far as taxes on like homes I would think they will be in +/- $20,000 range. I mean they may be $17k or they could be $25k. Your best bet is to call the township.Hope it helps. Len... more
Unless it is signed by both parteis , either party can change their mind. If you like the home and it is worth the price, you can offer more. Or you can wait for another home to come on the market. Hope you are working with a buyer's agent.... more
