Land Contracts are very hard to find these days. A Land Contract can only be offered by the seller if he owns the property free of any mortgage that has a "due on transfer of title" clause on it. Since virtually every mortgage out there has this clause, the seller would have to own the property "free and clear". Most sellers who own property "free and clear" don't wish to sell on a land contract and tie up their equity in the home. This is why these types of properties are so hard to find.

Your best bet is to monitor the local papers in the FOR RENT area and keep an eye out for RENT SIGNS in the area you want to rent. Often times, first contact is key in getting a good rental home. Good Luck!
