Amos Elroy answered:
Hi Olga,

This is a common scam. Someone posts an ad of any random property and then claims that they are the owners but out of the country. Then they request a deposit be sent to them via Western Union.

A lot of people still fall in this trap, and there is absolutely no interest in dealing with this fraud on anybody's side. The police at the supposed target destination refuses to get involved, and rightfully so, because the target location is not the one claimed in the request, it can be picked by WU anywhere in the world, and WU refuses to disclose where that was or any other details of the transaction to anyone.

Western Union actually makes millions of this type of fraud, and certainly has no incentive to intervene.

FBI won't even touch it as they consider it too petty. Police local to the victim doesn't care either.

The problem is not the site, the problem is everybody, particularly Western Union, allow this type of fraud to be perpetrated in the first place.

Sincerely,

Amos Elroy

Hi all-

We understand your frustration. Nobody hates the spam more than us. The best way to help us combat it at this time is to continue to flag spam when you see it. This will help us document and iterate the way we manage it going forward.

If you think we may have missed something- or have any other feedback for us- please email us at community@trulia.com.

Hi there Sa0318,

As I had mentioned in your other post, Trulia does not allow FSBO listings. This is why Postlets will not let you post the property to our site.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. If there's anything else I can help you with please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Hi there Sa0318,

Unfortunately at this time, home owners cannot list their own homes for sale on Trulia.com.

If you would like your home to be listed for sale on Trulia, you will need to work with a real estate professional. For help with finding a recommended and reputable professional to work with, you can use our "Find A Pro" tool, found right here: http://bit.ly/Kg6Tlg

If there's anything else I can help you with, let me know! andrew@trulia.com

Hi Sivya,

Only listings that have been manually submitted to Trulia can be edited directly on our site. We receive this listing information from ListHub.net and I believe they pull it from your MLS, however if you notice a discrepancy I recommend that you contact ListHub to ensure that they show the correct photos on their site and include those same photos in the data feed they send to us.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best Wishes,
