How does an HOA find a new management company?

Asked by Teresa Grobecker, San Francisco, CA Fri Sep 28, 2012

Finding HOA board members to market to is nearly impossible! It's like an unbreakable black box! Does anyone have any ideas on how to reach this market? I offer HOA management services and would love some details. Thanks!

Though there are plenty of firns from individuals to large statewide mgt. cos. working the HOA mgt.
space, how they shop for services varies depending on board members, and who there other advisors are. Many may be surprised at how little most directors know about management. Often
Boards are not trained, or not well trained. As you know, most people resist change, so that makes
it hard for any new vendor/service to get a chance to serve them.

If you haven't already checked out http://www.davis-stirling.com, and http://www.echo-ca.org, and other sites that serve HOAs, advertising there may help.

I agree that it's difficult trying to deal with HOA management yourself I think it's worth it to get some help on that front. Finding someone to deal with the management aspect for you will remove a lot of hassle. Good luck in getting all of your HOA needs figured out. http://www.thenoblecompany.com/hoa.html

management can be a tricky thing. It is not the right area of work for everyone. Being able to find the right personalities and drives is important. They also need to be able to work with others or it will not work out very well.
