You can call a couple local realtors and interview them before determining who to hire.

When you search for mortgage companies you only get bad reviews, basically every company out there is rated 2 stars or less. So I googled Sirva to have a comparison, because I have dealt with them multiple times without any problems and ended up here. So just to put a counterpoint out there: I was relocated with SIRVA in 2005, bought my first home with them in 2006, and have bought 3 other houses with them over the last decade. They have been professional and efficient to deal with and I have 0, literally ZERO, complaints about them. ... more

Texas is a non disclosure state so the estimate at ANY public website is likely to be off. I would suggest that you ask for a realtor's assistance to get you comps on your property. Or you can hire an appraiser. ... more

You can sell, but it may also cost you financially. Unless the value has gone up more than the cost of selling, Title, Escrow, Taxes, Commissions, you will not recoup all of your down payment. Contact a local Real Estate Agent who is knowledgeable, experienced and works a lot in your area. They can help.
Sorry for your troubles. Have you considered buying a security system with cameras? It may be cheaper than moving.

Hello Krystal,

Trulia answered your question here if you were listing your home as a for sale by owner. As a reminder, listing your home with a Realtor will allow your home to be listed on dozens of real estate websites including Trulia, Zillow, Realtor.com and others.

So many steps in selling a home and Internet exposure to potential Buyers is a small part. Good luck.

If you agreed to pay them for work done on the home, then you owe them whatever was agreed to. If they took it on themselves to do this work, that's their problem (in my opinion).
Earning a commission is not a guarantee. Some people think agents earn too much, but we also take on a lot of risk. If a listing doesn't sell, whatever time, money and energy we normally put in to obtain a sale is gone. Unless we have a contract in writing to compensate for things we do, it's just lost effort.
If you approved the agent to do the work, did they say what the costs would be? If you "extended" but there is nothing in writing, it's not likely you legally extended.

You would want to list your home with a local agent. Are you accepting buyer with owner financing only or buyers with their own financing as well? Some buyers may not be interested in owner financing unless you can beat the other lender. I would suggest that discuss this with your realtor in person. ... more
