Hello Peter,
You may also want to consider desirable Oakmont, on the eastern edge of Santa Rosa, not too far from Sonoma in the Valley of the Moon. Oakmont is an active adult community with 3 recreation centers, 2 golf courses. swimming pools, bocce ball, tennis courts, lawn bowling, over 100 special interest groups, as well as beautiful views of Hood Mountain and Annadel Regional Parks. The homes vary in size, age, and amenities. There are about 3000 homes in Oakmont, with about 5000 residents. If you would like a personal tour of Oakmont to see if it may be an option for you, please let me know. Also, there are vacation rentals available to see if Oakmont is an option for you.

Take care and I look forward to hearing from you.

Peter,
There are 3 over 55 communities -- Temelec, Creekside and Chantrelle that are located fairly close to each other. Temelec is the oldest of the communities. All three communities are well maintained, have a pool / clubhouse. Both Creekside and Temelec have homes that border vineyard or open space and this is often desireable. There are also several all age communities, i.e., Sonoma Greens that offer the amenties of pool, tennis courts, walking paths, etc that are offered by the senior communities. Each community has a homeowner's association and each HOA covers different items. Location and overall layout of the home will factor into your overall decision making.

Glad to answer any other specific questions you may have.
