There is no set commission when it comes to real estate. This is something you would negotiate with your real estate company. Shop around. Find the agency that works for you.

Negotiate, Negotiate, Negotiate, There is no average commission!, .Each real estate company is free to set its own fee schedule and to negotiate various rates with individual buyers and sellers. Any agreement between two different firms to set standard rates, however, is a serious violation of antitrust laws. Violations occur when competing firms agree to act together, this is what the US Justice Department calls restraint of trade. There is no set fee, fees are negotiable

It is not how much you will pay but what you get for what you pay. In this world you get what you pay for so a discount broker will offer discount services. Shop around and find a full time local agent who is well experienced in your area who will provide you with full service, time, resources, marketing and feedback through each step of the selling process

Hi Sommerhoff,

There is no fixed rate. All commission is negotiable. That said, check with a few Realtors in your area and ask them what they usually charge. Keep in mind, the seller usually pays the commission of their Realtor and the buyer's Realtor.
