Always put your money into kitchens and bathrooms, light neutral paint colors, nice curb appeal will always help you sell faster.

Excellent question. First of all, you don't want the home to exhibit any signs of "deferred maintenance", such as worn carpeting, leaky faucets, inoperable windows/doors, etc. Once you get past that, young first time buyers prefer homes in both "move in" condition and with "updated" baths and kitchens. Well maintained hardwood flooring, built-in cabinetry, professional renovations (unlike the work performed by uncle Harry) are also sought after.

Spend your money remodeling in your kitchen and baths first! Often times people are disappointed that they spend lots of money on finishing a basement and it doesn't exactly boast their homes value when it comes time to sell.

Give me a buzz sometime if you want to talk about your home.

Thank you,

Typically the best home feature updates you can do are the simplest ones. Most people think about adding something extravagant but will never re-coop their money on it. Best options are maybe updating appliances, updating windows or bathroom, changing fixtures etc etc. Home efficiency is a really big hitter now a days as well. Think logical with your upgrades and features and typically those will be your best pay outs on resale value. Any other questions feel free to contact me directly!

We continue to see a trend of homes in excellent condition bringing the highest sale price and shorter time on the market. The homes in great condition make them sought after, and will help keep resale value high down the road.
