When deciding to sell and listing with an Agent, may a Seller limit /decline an Open House.?

Absolutely! The seller has the final say in all the marketing efforts!

Get it in writing what you want and do not want your agent to do.

We didn't want open houses and we let our agent know and they respected our wishes.

Yes you can absolutely limit the number of open houses. Just make sure you don't limit too much in the first month it is on the market or you may lose out on the spring buyers market.

If you want to sell have an open house. If you want to control who is there you may stay with the agent. If your home is really nice you should have an open house because that is how I bought own my house.

Yes you can decide you do not want an Open House.
Not every home is a good candidate for an open house.
I suggest having an honest discussion with your agent they may be able to take pre cautions that you will be comfortable with. An open house can be a great marketing tool, I myself sold 3 homes from the open house last year. Best of Luck !

Yes just don't restrict the selling agent to much or you may not sell. But you can limit showing times and number of Open Houses they hold.
